Isaiah 31:1 CSB

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and who depend on horses! They trust in the abundance of chariots and in the large number of horsemen. They do not look to the Holy One of Israel, and they do not seek the Lord.

 

What do you do for help?  so often we seek the help of others, or we try to rely on our own strength while ignoring God’s outstretched hand.

God told the nation of Israel not to look to other nations for help; He told them not to rely on other nations’ armies or on their riches but to look to Him and Him alone. Is there anything that you are in need of help with today? Like your family? your job? paying your bills? being a good parent? dealing with your feelings and emotions? dealing with your mental health? overcoming anger? Overcoming a persistence sin? Having self-control? staying positive? dealing with health problems? Loving someone? forgiving someone? No matter what your particular challenge is; are you going to rely on others? Are you trying to face it only? Why not go to your heavenly Father and trust Him for the help you need.
