How has your joy been lately? Well Jesus told His disciples: “Until now you have asked for nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.” John 16.24 CSB
It can be hard at times to believe that God truly wants us to have our joy made full; but He does! As any good Father or parent, God enjoys seeing the wonder on our faces and the delight in our eyes when we have received something that we have asked for. However, the secrets are that: first it’s not by because of anything we’ve done (good works) that makes us worthy. And it’s certainly not because we are more special than anyone else (Philippians 2.3-4). Second, and the biggest secret is, it is all because we ask according to His (God’s) will and in His (Jesus’) name.
Prayers must always be offered in submission to God’s will (1 John 5.14). Some prayers are answered speedily; others they are granted in the time and manner that is best for us. Christ ultimately receives the glory and He Himself receives joy as He gives us His joy. Don’t be hesitant to ask of the Father, Jesus doesn’t want you to be hesitant (John 16.26-27).
So how is your joy? It can all depends on how you’re asking; always remember that Jesus wants you to experience some incredible joy!
May God always bless you and may you always be encouraged in Jesus Christ!
