Have you ever felt like your life was filled with one problem after the next? Have you ever felt discouraged and questioned if God loves you? Well, God has something encouraging to say to you today. 

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. Romans 5.3-5 NLT

Sometimes we may look at our lives and wonder: ‘What in the world is going on? What is God doing in my life?’ The answer may not be as difficult as you think and should be encouraging. Because God is building your character and producing hope in you. And it is this hope that will carry you through even the hardest of days.

One way God builds hope in our lives is to allow difficulties. Nobody likes to go through hardships in life, but this is what put our character to the test and also produces perseverance in us. This staying power, our ability to not quit when the chips are down, turns us into mature believers with proven character; this produces the hope we have. 

So, although we may not like the trials, the difficulties, or suffering in life. We should be encouraged and grateful because God is using these times to produce in us a character far beyond our expectations. Trust in God’s process; God first works in us so that He can then work through us! Aren’t you glad that God is pouring out His love on you!
