How are you holding up under life’s difficult situations? Are your trials getting heavy? Did you know that God wants you to persevere in whatever situation you are facing? He will reward you for your faithfulness to Him in difficult times. Blessed is the one who endures trials, because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 CSB

In the New Testament perseverance is the ability to be strong and continue under a heavy load. It is the ability to not give up no matter how difficult the situation gets. It is a steady persistence in a course of action.
When we have trials we want them to go away; fortunately, there are times when God does take away our pain and difficulties. However, most often God calls us to be courageous in the midst of trials. This is why perseverance has been well defined as “courage stretched out.” How are you doing being stretched out? Do you feel like you might break? As we trust God, He promises to help carry our heavy loads. He will not let you break. He will see you through. God’s goal for you and me is for us to learn how to patiently endure any and every trial and overcome them with obedience, hope, and joy.

When God Says: “blessed is the one who endures trials” he means it! Not only will He bless you in this lifetime, but He will also bless you for all eternity! Have a week of being strong in the Lord with obedience, hope, and joy!
